Spotlight interview: Dan and Ollie

We managed to grab Dan and Ollie just before their gig to give us all the backstage gossip and hear their views on life in H-E-A-P-S.

Hi boys hows it going?

Dan: We are good thanks me and Ollie are just going through some last minute rehearsals before the show

Ollie: However much we take our music seriously, we like to let loose before shows and rest our voices.

What is your usual routine before a gig?

Ollie: We usually run through some vocal exercises after the final rehearsal and then just chill out before the gig.

Do you have any requests for your dressing rooms?

Dan: We aren't really that fussy to be honest. We do like to have several bottles of water and nandos peri peri chicken but we aren't that bothered. You hear of some artists asking for hundreds of ridiculous requests but we don't like to be that rude, its just an honour for the host to have us.

You two seem very close is the whole band like this?

Ollie: Me and Dan have been friends for years so we get along like brothers, the same as George. Em and Katy are super close as well and we all get along so well.

Dan: Its such a nice dynamic we have and I think it gives us a real edge with the music we make.

What does it feel like being on stage together?

Ollie: Its such a proud moment performing on stage with your friends but the best feeling of all is when the crowd sings our songs back to us. The feeling knowing that people have taken time to listen and learn your songs is just undescribable

One final question before you go stage, where do you se H-E-A-P-S in 5 years time?

Dan: Hopefully we will have had a few more number ones and I would like to think that we would have released at least two more albums by then.

Ollie: What matters most is that we are still producing quality music that appeals to our fans and as long as we are still in that position we will all be very happy.
